This is a quick article explaining to everyone who wants to buy Vile how they can do so via Kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vile/vile.

Since I posted the article about how to buy tickets for our launch parties, https://www.aboutwriting.org/how-to-join-us-at-the-book-launch-parties-for-vile-in-london-dec-7th-and-paris-dec-14th/, I’ve had a few people who can’t be at the parties ask how they can buy the book.

At the moment, the best way to do so is via Kickstarter.  Here’s an explanation with diagrams for how you can do this, and why crowdfunding is so important to the successful launch of an indie novel.

To celebrate the launch of my first novel, Vile, we are holding two parties. The first is in London on December 7^th and the second in Paris on December 14^th. These are ticketed events, both because of limited space and to help fund the launch of the book. Tickets are bought through the Kickstarter, but don’t worry, you get a lot for your money – a signed copy of the book, champagne and a buffet for the 30 euro ticket and if you splash out on the VIP ticket you also get a bag of goodies to go with your book.

In this article I’m going to give details of the dates and times of the parties, exactly how to find them, and how even the most computer-phobic amongst you can use Kickstarter to buy your ticket. I hope to see you all there!

But just so you get the main message: YOU NEED TO BUY A TICKET ON KICKSTARTER TO COME TO THE PARTY, AND TICKETS ARE LIMITED SO YOU SHOULD DO IT NOW!

Here it is. After four years of work my first novel is now available, with a cover designed by the marvellous Claire Peacey of https://cpeacey.wixsite.com/autumnsky. If you’d like to get your hands on some goodies and help me promote the book, check out the Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vile/vile.   And here’s the beautiful cover she made for me:

In this article I’m not just showing off my new book. I want to share 8 simple, practical tips I learned from self-publishing my book. I’m sure I’ll learn more lessons in the future. But these were things I found out by doing it, and maybe they’ll be useful to you.
